obviously my friday night has proved to be quite thrilling

movies I think will be good slash want to see soon:

  • Beaufort: Israeli film about the last days of a IDF unit’s abandonment of a fortress near the Lebanese border.
  • Cassandra’s Dream: A thriller directed by Woody Allen, who did an incredible job with Match Point, this one has two brothers whose relationship is (seemingly) rent apart by a single brutal act.
  • There Will Be Blood: Holy crap, this looks like Daniel Day-Lewis’ career-defining role.
  • Brick: I’ve actually already seen this, but I really would like to see it again.  It’s an (unlikely) combination of film noir and teen-high-school genres, and the dialogue is extraordinary—watch it with subtitles (really!) because not a single word is worth missing.
